Itinerary for a Bhutan Bicycle Tour:
Day 1: Arrival in Paro Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be greeted by our guide and transferred to the hotel. After checking in, you can relax and get accustomed to the altitude.
Day 2: Paro – Thimphu (Cycling Distance: 54km) After breakfast, we will start cycling towards Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. The route passes through beautiful landscapes and traditional villages. We will also visit the Tachog Lhakhang Bridge on the way. In Thimphu, we will visit the Tashichho Dzong, the National Memorial Chorten, and the Buddha Dordenma Statue.
Day 3: Thimphu – Punakha (Cycling Distance: 72km) We will start cycling towards Punakha, the old capital of Bhutan. The route passes through the beautiful Dochula Pass, where we will stop for some tea and enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayas. In Punakha, we will visit the Punakha Dzong, one of the most beautiful and historic fortresses in Bhutan.
Day 4: Punakha – Gangtey (Cycling Distance: 75km) Today’s route takes us through some beautiful countryside, passing through rural villages and farmlands. We will also visit the beautiful Gangtey Monastery and explore the surrounding valley.
Day 5: Gangtey – Trongsa (Cycling Distance: 70km) Today, we will cycle towards Trongsa, a historic town known for its impressive dzong. The route passes through some beautiful valleys and forests, with plenty of opportunities to stop and take in the scenery.
Day 6: Trongsa – Bumthang (Cycling Distance: 68km) After breakfast, we will start cycling towards Bumthang, one of the most beautiful regions in Bhutan. We will visit the stunning Jakar Dzong and the Jambay Lhakhang Monastery on the way.
Day 7: Bumthang – Ura (Cycling Distance: 45km) Today’s route takes us through some of the most scenic countryside in Bhutan, with stunning views of the Himalayas and traditional villages. We will visit the Ura Valley and explore the local culture and traditions.
Day 8: Ura – Mongar (Cycling Distance: 80km) After breakfast, we will start cycling towards Mongar, a small town located in eastern Bhutan. The route passes through some beautiful forests and valleys, with plenty of opportunities to stop and take in the scenery.
Day 9: Mongar – Trashigang (Cycling Distance: 90km) Today’s route takes us towards Trashigang, a bustling town located in eastern Bhutan. The route passes through some beautiful landscapes and rural villages, with plenty of opportunities to stop and take in the scenery.
Day 10: Trashigang – Samdrup Jongkhar (Cycling Distance: 180km) Today’s route takes us towards Samdrup Jongkhar, a small town located on the border with India. The route is long but passes through some beautiful countryside, with plenty of opportunities to stop and take in the scenery.
Day 11: Departure After breakfast, we will transfer you to the airport for your departure flight.
